Recommended Hardware Specifications for PANDDA Network Probe and PANDDA Collector

To ensure optimal performance and scalability, the hardware requirements for a network probe and collector should be carefully considered based on traffic volume, processing needs, and storage capacity.

Operating System

We support only EPEL 9 distributions. Recommended is Oracle Linux 9.5

Network Probe

CPU
Multi-core processor (Intel i3 Kaby Lake or higher, AMD Ryzen 3 or higher)

  • Minimum: 2 vcores

RAM

  • Minimum: 2 GB

Collector

CPU
Multi-core processor (Intel i3 Kaby Lake or higher, AMD Ryzen 3 or higher)

  • Minimum: 8 vcores

RAM

  • Minimum: 16 GB

Storage

  • Minimum: 200GB

Connectivity
  • 100Mbps per connected probe

Network Probe

High-performance multi-core processor (Intel Xeon Gold or AMD EPYC recommended)

  • Minimum: 10 vcores, Recommended: 16+ cores with high clock speeds (>3.0 GHz)

  • Minimum: 32 GB
  • Recommended: 64 GB or more

Network Interface Cards (NICs)

  • High-performance NICs with support for DPDK
  • For 100Gbps lines, we recommend using NVIDIA® Mellanox® ConnectX®-5
